LTI users that access their Lab-Aids Portal account via a link in their LMS (eg, Schoology or Canvas) can set a password to manually log into their Lab-Aids Portal account, which bypasses their LMS.
For LTI Users, Can I Manually Login?
Requirements & Notes:
-
This process is completely optional for LTI users.
-
Both students and teachers can manually set a password, but the username associated with their Lab-Aids Portal account must be a valid, functional email address. Please inquire with Lab-Aids to ensure this is the case, since your LMS may have anonymized your username. If your username is anonymized, this process will not work.
-
Please ensure that your district/school does not block outside vendors from emailing you directly, since this process relies on you receiving an email in order to set your password.
-
If you do manually set a password for your Lab-Aids Portal account, you can still access your account via your LMS as you did before. This process gives you an additional way to access your Lab-Aids Portal account and does not impact the LTI external tool you previously used to access your account.
Process:
-
You do not need to be logged into your LMS. Go to the following site and enter your username: https://portals.lab-aids.com/forgotpassword.htm
-
After you click Submit, you should receive an email with instructions. Go to the website contained in the email and set a new password.
-
Once you have successfully set a password, you can now log into your Lab-Aids Portal account here: https://portals.lab-aids.com
