Our Story

Founded in 1963  |  Long Island, New York

Our story began with a commitment to make science learning more engaging, relevant, and accessible. Today, Lab-Aids continues that mission by collaborating with educators to provide trusted secondary science and mathematics curriculum built for real classrooms and real students.

Our Roots and Core Values

Lab-Aids began when our founder, Morton Frank, left the classroom to create high-quality, research-based materials teachers could trust.

Since then, we’ve grown from a supplemental-kit maker into a full-service education publisher. He established a few core goals—still central to Lab-Aids today:

Reducing instructor preparation time so they can focus on what they entered the classroom to do: teach.
Developing effective equipment and classroom kits to support lessons, experiments and activities that bring concepts to life.
Implementing high-quality instructional materials that are rooted in the best practices of inquiry-based secondary science education.

Designed for Educators and Students

Because we manufacture much of our own science materials, Lab-Aids is uniquely positioned to provide unique solutions for custom curricular projects.

With the support of our development and professional learning teams, we can put together a full package to meet the needs for corporate community efforts, district and state level projects, and customized curriculum.

Why Our Work Matters

For over six decades, Lab-Aids has provided hands-on curriculum and supplemental science and math materials that help educators bring abstract concepts to life through experiments, investigations, modeling, and more.

Hands-On Learning That Works

Rather than relying on textbooks alone, our materials encourage students to experiment, observe, model, and discuss. This makes learning more meaningful and accessible — especially complex topics.

Flexibility & Scalability

Whether a teacher needs a quick supplemental lab, a full-year course, or a custom module,  Lab-Aids  offers options that can be adapted to district standards and class needs.

Real Impact & Reach

Our curricula support classrooms nationwide and are used by schools that want to equip students with real-world science and math understanding — not just rote memorization. With the addition of math programs, Lab-Aids is expanding its impact even further.

Support for Educators

Teachers aren’t on their own. With professional learning, online portals, and dedicated support teams — Lab-Aids empowers educators from planning through execution.

We Prepare YOU for Monday

Just like our programs, Lab-Aids professional learning is truly one-of-a-kind. Educators step into the student experience—working through lessons and hands-on labs exactly as their students do. This immersive approach shows the program in action and ensures teachers are ready to teach from Day 1 or as we like to say: “We prepare YOU for Monday.”
