Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS Lead States 2013) positions “analyzing and interpret- ing data” as one of eight science and engineering practices, and the Common Core State Standards, Mathematics (NGAC and CCSSO 2010) recognize “Measurement and Data” as one of the domains of mathematics to be fostered at all K–12 levels.
