Lab-Aids© is excited to participate in this years CAST Conference in Fort Worth, TX. Join Bill Gipperich at the Lab-Aids Booth and learn more about our Issues and Science: Redesigned for the NGSS Middle School Program and our high school Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science curricula.

According to Travel & Leisure Magazine, Fort Worth was voted one of the 50 Best Places to Travel in 2021. Get your boots packed and enjoy your trip.

Make sure to attend our Hands-On Workshops:

Modeling Gas Exchange

Presenter: TBD
Date: Friday, November 12, 2021
Time: 4:00p - 5:00p
Room: 101-Fort Worth Convention Center

Participants conduct an investigation to identify the presence of carbon dioxide in samples of their own exhaled breath. The function of the respiratory system in excreting carbon dioxide waste is highlighted. This activity is building towards an understanding of human body systems and to the interacting roles of these systems in providing nutrients and oxygen and removing carbon dioxide wastes from the cells throughout the body. This activity works towards MS.LS1.A and MS.PS3.D.

The Full Course: Modeling Antibiotic Resistance

Presenter: TBD
Date: Saturday, November 13, 2021
Time: 8:00a - 9:00a
Room: 101-Fort Worth Convention Center

Participants use a model to explore the cause-and-effect relationship between inappropriate use of antibiotics and the phenomenon of the evolution of antibiotic resistance. As they use the model, participants use mathematical representations to support their analysis of patterns and trends in the results and to develop explanations for how and why the population of bacterial is changing.
