SOIL NUTRIENTS AND FERTILIZER

Like all living organisms, plants need nutrients to survive and grow. Fertilizers are used to increase the nutrients in soil, especially for plants used in agriculture. Participants test fertilized and unfertilized soils for nitrates using a colorimetric process. Learn more about this activity here.
