“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
Howard Gunston has over twenty-five years of marketing experience, including twenty years in higher education, where he helped curate a sense of pride and belonging amongst the Seawolves of Stony Brook University. Over the course of his career, Howie designed marketing campaigns for special events, led efforts to increase sales, and collaborated on social media engagement. While in the private sector, Howie oversaw the branding, B2B and B2C marketing and communications efforts for projects ranging from national ad buys to branding and style guides.
For Howie, the art behind marketing is one of storytelling, and that’s his passion, but that doesn’t happen in a vacuum, so he enjoys telling stories that uplift the successes of Lab-Aids’ many teachers, partners, colleagues, and science aficionados. He holds an MFA in creative writing; writes fiction, nonfiction, and creative nonfiction; teaches writing; and hosts an original podcast on the craft of writing. His work has appeared in outlets such as Blue Monday Review, Screen Rant, and TSR: The Southampton Review.
Howie lives with his husband on Long Island, where he watches way too much science fiction and is occasionally granted couch time by his rescue dog.
