I have observed two fundamental types of change in the teachers I serve since we've implemented Issues and Science. First, they have realized that these "kits" are not elementary - in fact the modules are rich in genuine guided scientific inquiry. The issue storylines of the new units are strong. Issues and Science goes a long way to preparing our students.
