Join science educators from across the country to improve your use of materials from SEPUP (from The Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley).
Designed for Middle School teachers who want to increase classroom effectiveness and for administrators seeking to take leadership and develop their local capacity for the SEPUP program.
This is a highly-engaging and fully interactive seminar working with experts in the field of science education. Both time in the digital Academy and optional chat time afterward creates a unique opportunity for Middle School educators to meet peers from across the country to share ideas and make connections in the Lab-Aids community.
Building on a foundation of required courses in assessment, literacy, and sensemaking in Issues and Science, participants will then take part in an advanced program of leadership development from the content topics below.
Dates/times: We will meet daily from 12:00 - 3:00 pm (EDT) from Tuesday, July 20 – Friday, July 23, and will also offer a pre-Academy session on Monday, July 19 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm (EDT) for those Middle School teachers who are new to Issues and Science.
We will also offer an optional informal chat with the day’s presenters to follow up any questions or topics of interest.
Fee: $150, which includes an advance shipment of equipment, books, and materials so that you can work through selected hands-on materials at home in real time.
Deadline: Registration is now closed
